We have tried to answer some of the most common questions below. But it's really important that you have all the information you need - so if you need to ask us anything at all just get in touch.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
For Physiotherapy, we recommend that you wear loose, comfortable clothes. It may be advisable to wear shorts for a back or lower limb problem and a vest top for a neck/upper limb problem.
If you are having a massage then just wear whatever you are comfortable in.
WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS?
Kalm is open Tuesday to Friday 9am to 7pm and Saturdays 10am to 1pm. We are closed on bank holidays.
WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER FOR MOBILE TREATMENT?
Kalm covers Bransgore, Burton, Burley, Christchurch, Barton on Sea, Highcliffe, New Milton, Mudeford, Southbourne, and surrounding areas. If you live outside of these areas and we are unable to help, we will do our best to recommend someone that can.
HOW CAN I PAY?
We accept cash, cheque, bank transfer or card payments. For those having ongoing physiotherapy we can also invoice on a monthly basis if preferred.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY TREATMENT?
Please get in touch if you need to cancel or rearrange your treatment. Please note late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may be subject to a late cancellation fee.
HOW DO I PURCHASE A GIFT VOUCHER?
Get in touch and let us know what you would like to buy a voucher for, we will then send you a payment link (so you can pay by card) and we will pop it in the post (free delivery).
WILL YOU CONTACT MY GP?
If you are having physiotherapy we may need to contact your GP in order to provide safe and effective treatment but will only do so with your permission.
WHAT RECORDS WILL BE KEPT OF MY TREATMENT?
If you are having physiotherapy, we will keep written documentation of your assessment, in accordance with the Physiotherapy Professional Code of Conduct. Any information you provide will be kept in strict confidence.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Following your assessment the physiotherapist will discuss with you how many sessions you may require, but ultimately it is your choice.
DO YOU PROVIDE EQUIPMENT?
If we feel that you would benefit from a particular piece of equipment such as a walking aid then we can order this for you. You just need to pay for the cost of the equipment, we do not charge an additional fee. We may lend you smaller pieces of equipment as part of your exercise programme such as weights. If you wish to buy your own on discharge then we can do this for you, or advise you on where to purchase them from.
WHAT CONDITIONS DO YOU TREAT?
Kalm sees a wide variety of clients but has a special interest in neurological conditions such as MS, spinal cord injury, Parkinson's and stroke. We also see a lot of clients looking for physiotherapy pre or post surgery such as a knee or hip replacement, as well as elderly clients who have suffered falls or just want to work on their mobility, balance and strength to maintain as much independence as possible. WHAT MASSAGE DURATIONS DO YOU OFFER?
We offer seated massages for 30 or 45 minutes. Please note each duration includes time for changing and a short consultation on your first appointment.
WHAT IS CORPORATE MASSAGE?
We provide in-house massage to companies looking to treat their staff, boost morale, as well as reduce stress in the workplace. We bring a massage chair to your office and provide seated massage that is performed through clothes. Get in touch or check out our corporate page to find out more.
